All the junk gone from the previous job with the final half load in the truck. Since we already took away 3 full loads, the customer was only charged $125 for the last half load. 😇
When we load branches we stomp them down 2 to 3 times, packing in as many as we can. This load had quite a few large branches which we cut down to about 6' so that they would fit nicely into the truck.
Loading a king mattress isn't easy! They're bulky, floppy, and weigh about 200 lbs. If you have a king mattress to get rid of, please have it in the driveway so that we can back right up to it. Also, a king mattress and the box spring are a full load. We may be able to fit a few other things in the truck, but since we can't close the tailgate with a king mattress loaded, we usually can't take anything else.
A hot tub cover, an old BBQ, and a bunch of bags full of everything imaginable from a shed cleanout. If we only have to bag 4 or 5 bags of garbage, there is no extra charge. But if we have to go into a house and bag a lot and remove junk from a house, then we charge an extra $25 per load.

Small Demolitions!
We do demolitions of old sheds. The fee to demolish a small shed (10' x 12') is $100 to $300, plus $275 per load to haul away the debris. Please note that the cost per load for wood or construction debris is $289 per load, instead of $239 per load.
Hot Tub Removal!
Using a sawzall, sledgehammer, and crowbar, the hot tub below was cut up and demolished in under an hour! Most hot tubs take 1 to 2 hours to cut up. We charge $495 to remove a hot tub, which includes cutting it up and hauling away the debris, which is usually two loads. The electrical must be disconnected, all the water removed, and everything moved away so that we can easily access it to cut it up.

TheJunkGuy.ca serves customers in Campbell River, Courtenay, Comox, Cumberland, Qualicum Beach, Parksville, and Nanaimo...and everywhere in between. For a surcharge, service is also available in Port Alberni (add $50 per load).
A full load is up to the MIDDLE rack. This is for safety reasons so that things don't fall out of the truck when we're driving 80 km/h on the highway. Of course, items like a bookshelf will stick up above the middle rack, which is fine because it's safe.
There are exceptions for heavy loads. Loads of brick and rubble will fill about one-quarter of the truck bed. Loads of laminate or roofing will fill about three-quarters of the truck bed.
The maximum load weight is 500 kg, so loads of brick, laminate, roofing, tile, wood etc., will be smaller. For example, a 500 kg load of brick will fill about one-quarter of the truck bed.
A small load is still $239.
Ideally, junk should be put into a pile in the driveway or garage — somewhere our crew can back the truck up to. If we can see everything in one area it also makes it easier for us to sort and load efficiently to get the most junk into the truck. We will also gladly remove junk from inside the house or gather it up from around the yard, but an extra charge of $25 per load may apply. However, large items like an appliance, couch, king mattress, etc., must be outside the house in the driveway or garage.

Absolutely not! We are a full service junk removal company, and when we say full service we really mean it! Just put everything in a pile and let us do the sorting and loading while you relax.
Payment is due at the time services are provided, before we leave the property. Payment can be by cash, check, or etransfer. Sorry, we do not accept debit or credit cards. If you pay by etransfer, please send the payment to pay@thejunkguy.ca, which has Autodeposit so no password is required.
If you're not going to be home, no problem! Many of our clients are at work when we do a job. You simply put everything in a pile, text us a photo, and prepay by sending an etransfer to pay@thejunkguy.ca to confirm the booking.
Generally, we can provide service within 1 to 2 days. Sometimes we can provide service the same day, but we cannot guarantee same day service, especially during the "busy season" between May to September.

When you rent a bin, you usually have to pay for the entire volume, regardless of how much space you use. In many cases, others will throw junk into your bin leaving you with the cost of disposal. This means our prices will often be less compared to a bin . . . and we do all the work!
